Objective:
To support the Human Resources department in various functions including recruitment, employee onboarding, benefits administration, policy enforcement, and employee relations. The Human Resource Associate will assist in maintaining a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and supporting the overall HR strategy of the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job listings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting initial interviews.
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including orientation, paperwork, and benefits enrollment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee information in the HR database.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, including benefits, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in the resolution of employee grievances and conflicts.
- Monitor and maintain employee morale through various initiatives and programs.
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
- Process employee benefit enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to employee benefits.
- Policy Enforcement:
- Help enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and fairness in their application.
- Assist in the development and updating of employee handbooks and policy documents.
- Training and Development:
- Coordinate and organize training sessions and development programs for employees.
- Track employee training records and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Performance Management:
- Assist in the performance review process, including collecting feedback and documentation.
- Support the development of performance improvement plans when necessary.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit required HR-related reports and documentation.
- Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in both digital and paper formats.
- Generate reports and analytics related to HR metrics, such as turnover rates, hiring trends, and employee engagement.
- Communication:
- Facilitate communication between employees, management, and HR departments.
- Assist in the planning and execution of company-wide events and announcements.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. (Preferred)
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration is preferred.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and the ability to handle sensitive employee issues with confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in HR software (e.g., HRIS, ATS) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with employee benefits administration platforms.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO).
- Basic data analysis and reporting skills.
Additional Information:
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods, use a computer, and perform repetitive motions.
- Work Environment: Office setting with occasional need to interact with employees in various locations.
- Travel: Minimal travel may be required for training or meetings.
